MLI Release Requirements

If you are migrating to:

VSE CICS TS 1.1.1:

• Apply fix 141046.

New z/OS release:

• If  using a 31-bit PCCA, apply fix 141107.

z/OS CICS TS 2.3:

• Apply fix 141088.

z/OS CICS TS 3.1:

• Apply fix 141096.

z/OS CICS TS 3.2:

• Download current MLI product
• Follow the MLI_README.TXT instructions to create the product files on the mainframe.
  - Choose loadlib MLILOD41.XMI 
• Requires fixes 141096, 141101, 141102, 141103, and 141118.
• Modify RDO definitions per fixes
• If VS/COBOL programs are executing but VCI is not, see VS/COBOL note below.

z/OS CICS TS 4.1:

• Download current MLI product
• Follow the MLI_README.TXT instructions to create the product files on the mainframe.
  - Choose loadlib MLILOD41.XMI 
• Requires fixes 141116 and 141146.
• If local MLI fix 141071, 141078, or 141145 is applied, apply local fix 141147.
• Modify RDO definitions per fixes
• If VS/Cobol Interpreter (VCI) is running, verify the MLI loadlib is concatenated before the VCI loadlib after applying fix 141146.
• If VS/COBOL programs are executing but VCI is not, see VS/COBOL note below.

z/OS CICS TS 4.2:

• Download current MLI product
• Follow the MLI_README.TXT instructions to create the product files on the mainframe.
  - Choose loadlib MLILOD42.XMI 
  - These libraries are NOT backward compatible -- multiple CICS releases requires multiple MLI loadlibs!
• If local MLI fix 141071, 141078, or 141145 is applied, apply local fix 141147.
• Modify RDO definitions per manual 
• If VS/Cobol Interpreter (VCI) is running, verify the MLI loadlib is concatenated before the VCI loadlib after applying fix 141146.
