VTAM/Switch 6.3 Release Notes

- For z/OS installations, RACF password phrase support was added. Reference the Control Table SECURE parameter.
- For z/OS installations, option to pass the physical terminal TCP/IP address to CICS has been added. Reference Section 2.12 Passing VTAM/Switch Information to Applications.
- Option added to the TRACE command to automatically turn on a FULL trace for any physical terminals starting a session with VTAM/Switch.Reference the TRACE command.
- For z/OS installations, in the event a VTAM/Switch dynamic module load fails, the LOAD macro ABEND and Reason codes are displayed.
- Macro GS$DFS was changed to generate a GONE +EXIT statement when a TEST statement is the last statement for the application within the group.
- Option to display all VTAM/Switch users currently using an application has been added. Reference the LIBRARYL command.
- Option to bypass the need to press PF1 to acquire VTAM/Switch user after entering the correct password has been added. Reference the Control Table ACQUIRE parameter.
- For z/OS installations, new VTAM/Switch exit GSFEX01 provided to determine when a SAF security call will be used to verify the user's ID and password or immediately prevent access to VTAM/Switch. Reference section 2.13.1 GSFEX01.
- Masking option for the variable &USER was created. Reference section 1.9.4 LOGDATA support.
- New administration option "14: Refresh User Application Menu". The new option will start the procedure to refresh the application menu and any "Administration Users" changes for all users currently using VTAM/Switch.
- For z/OS installations, the physical terminal's TCP/IP address will be placed on the VTAM/Switch sign-on screen.
- For z/OS installations, places the SID name on the VTAM/Switch sign-on screen.
- For z/OS installations, the VTAM/Switch user will receive a message when the RACF password will expire within the specified number of days. Reference Control Table parameter SECURE.
- New feature to toggle between File Transfer Mode ENABLED and File Transfer Mode DISABLED has been added. Reference the ROTATE command.
- For z/OS installations, option to set the VTAM/Switch user's Macro Group and/or Application Group name to the RACF ACEE Group name has been added. Reference Control Table FLAGB(1) and FLAGB(2) parameters.
- New IMMED option added to the VTAM/Switch PURGE command. This option will use VTAM commands to close both the user's physical terminal all logical terminals. Reference the PURGE command.
- New VTAM/Switch events added. Reference 3.13.2 VTAM/Switch Events.
- New option to control logical terminal sharing between different VTAM application has been added at the logical terminal level. Reference the Logical Terminal SHARE parameter.
- New option to display the VTAM/Switch Session Selection screen when a user in break mode reconnects to VTAM/Switch. Reference the User Table UFLAG(1) parameter.
- New option to specify the VTAM LOGMODE in the user profile application entry or in the Application Group Table has been added. Reference the Application Group Table LOGMODE parameter, User profile application entry LOGMODE parameter.
- New option to determine when to filter down the global application definition LOGMODE and LOGDATA information to the user's profile application definition. Reference Control Table AXFLAG and Application Group Table FLAG1 parameters.
- Administration and Profile menu screens have been modified to process all line commands.
- New option to bypass the Administration and Profile delete confirmation screen. Reference the User Table UFLAG(2) parameter.
- New DELETE command added to remove administration and profile records from the VTAM/Switch VSAM file. Reference the DELETE command.
